Shareo Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
What Shareo collects
Your account: your email address (to send your sign-in code) and the name and profile photo you choose.
What you add: your items and their photos, notes and tags, your groups and the people in them, loans and their due dates and pickup times, messages, Marketplace listings and the city you list them in, seller ratings, your wish list and saved listings.
Reports: when you report a problem, its text with your app version and phone type. When you report or block someone, who and why.
Notifications: a push notification token for your phone, if you allow notifications, so we can tell you about requests, messages and reminders.
What Shareo uses on your phone
Camera and photos, only when you take or choose a picture or scan a barcode.
Location, only when you ask Shareo to fill in your city on a listing. We save the city name, not your location.
Calendar, only to add a pickup time when you ask. Shareo can add events but cannot read your calendar.
Who can see it
Your items are visible only to the people you share them with, as set on each item. Messages are visible only to you and the person you are talking to. Marketplace listings, your name and your seller rating are visible to everyone signed in to Shareo.
We don't sell your information, show you ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Services that help run Shareo
Supabase stores your account and data and sends sign-in emails. Expo delivers push notifications. When you scan a bookshelf, the photo is sent to Anthropic to read the titles and is not kept by them for training. When you look up a book, its ISBN or title is sent to Open Library and Google Books. These services only use your information to provide their part of Shareo.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. That removes your profile, items, photos, groups, loans, messages, listings and the reports you sent.
Children
Shareo isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a significant way, we'll tell you in the app. To ask about your information or this policy: use Settings → Report a problem in the app.
